Date for the trip: 19/2 - 7/3, 2010

FRIDAY EVENING:
We will gather at the airport in Rio de Janeiro. When everyone has arrived safety, we will go straight to Alfredo Chaves.

SATURDAY-MONDAY:
Flying and swimming (for those who wants) in Alfredo Chaves. Alfredo Chaves is very close to the coast, and only about 30 minutes by car from the beach. There, we will fly a mixture of thermals and ridge lift. Normally, it is possible to soar from 10am. Later on, we will fly thermals and in the afternoon, we will ridge soar again. This is a very good place to warm-up and get some decent flight time. The landing spot is located in the back of the house where we will stay. We will eat lunch at a nice restaurant across the street. And then it will only takes us about 10min to go up to the starting point again for a nice afternoon flight. Dinner is served at any of the beaches restaurants nearby.

MONDAY EVENING:
We will travel to Pancas.

TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY:
Flying in Pancas. Now we have come a bit into the country. There, we will fly in rocky habitats. The main landing is just outside the town, next to what I think is their best restaurant. The landscape is incredibly and beautiful (see pictures) so it is a real pleasure to just fly around there, but for those who wants, there is also possible to fly XC.

WEDNESDAYEVENING:
We will leave to São José do Divino, where we will stay one night at Pablo’s relative’s farm. At the farm, we will be served with a lot of good homemade food. After a nice breakfast the next morning, we will leave for the flight place which is located next to the farm. From there, it is possible to fly to Governador Valadares (see Pablo’s video), but it also works extremely well just to fly around in the area. So, depending on your wish, we can stay in the area over the day or we can leave directly to Governador Valadares.

THURSDAY/FRIDAY DAYTIME:
Flying in Governador Valadares. Now, we hope that everyone is really warmed up so that we can take advantage of the fantastic opportunities to fly long distance. For those who do not feel ready to fly distance, there is also a possibility to fly around the mountains for many hours at the location. Governador Valadares offers a really good nightlife, with many good restaurants and bars. Shopping is possible for those who wish to do so.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING:
The Bus will leave for Rio de Janeiro. There, we will fly and swim and have a last night on the city together before we separate at the airport on Sunday.
